Posaunisten im Konzert

Trombone Wind Instruments

Our educational goal is to combine tradition and modernity in the best possible way in order to prepare students for the realities of the current job market. This is done under the guidance of leading teachers, recognized orchestral musicians and renowned soloists who bring their extensive experience to the teaching.

The Brass Spectrum Festival takes place regularly at the Dresden University of Music under the direction of Prof. Björn Kadenbach and Prof. Jan Donner. The festival offers a variety of concerts, workshops, and an instrument exhibition. Further information can be found at:

Training broad, practical, individual

In addition to regular main subject lessons and accompaniment, working in the university symphony orchestra is part of the training. Chamber music (trombone quartet, octet) as well as regular playing in the large brass ensemble of the HfM are part of the training. Students are free to place emphasis on early and new music. This guarantees a broad and individual training.

To round off the training, we strive to regularly welcome renowned guest teachers to the HfM Dresden.

Regular playing in the university orchestra with other students as well as the various brass ensembles (trio, quartet, quintet, larger brass ensemble/10-piece ensemble) as well as individually planned projects provide important insights into professional practice. Class concerts and concerts as part of excursions take place regularly.

Ensembles

Depending on your personal goals, you can choose between artistic and artistic-pedagogical instrumental training. In the artistic courses of study it is possible to take instruments such as alto trombone, tenor horn/euphonium and contrabass trombone as a secondary instrument.
