Training
The aim of the Stage Practice Solo program is to provide in-depth, theater-related training for vocal soloists. The study program provides opera practice in a professional theater environment and thus facilitates the students' career entry.
The training takes place in cooperation on the one hand with the Young Ensemble of the Semper Opera Dresden and on the other hand with the Opera Studio of the Municipal Theaters Chemnitz. The students complete the practical parts of the master's program at the respective cooperation partner. For the period of the standard study period, there is a corresponding agreement between the students and the respective cooperation partner, which is underpinned by an appropriate allowance for the time of study.
Artistic Practice
At the HfM Dresden, students receive individual artistic instruction in repertoire training as well as vocal coaching over four semesters. In addition, courses on music law, vocal physiology and physioprophylaxis as well as various workshops on starting a career are offered according to the study schedule. Master classes, e.g. with renowned singers or agents, complete the offer.
Parallel to the lessons at the HfM Dresden, the students participate in the ensemble of the respective cooperation partner. There, they receive practical work experience to complement their lessons at the university and expand their professional experience through regular involvement in rehearsals, opera performances and other events. At the same time, they have the opportunity to experience first-hand the many outstanding soloists at the Semper Opera and the Chemnitz Municipal Theater during rehearsals and performances.
