Lied Class and Concert Class

of the Dresden College of Music

The Lied class and Concert class is an integral part of the training of singers and vocal teachers and has a long and successful tradition in the history of the Dresden College of Music.

Training

The aim of the lessons is to impart the most comprehensive knowledge and suggestions possible in the field of song and oratorio singing. The main focus is on the promotion of the individual's creative will. Special aspects are the duo partnership voice/piano in song interpretation, chamber music and the interpretation of oratorio parts.

Lied accompaniment

In addition, a master's degree program for pianists specializing in song accompaniment is offered in the concert and song class. Here, too, the focus is on duo partnership in addition to teaching the peculiarities and characteristics of song accompaniment.

Artistic practice

In recitals in the series "Lied-Gut", in chamber concerts, oratorio performances and other projects, e.g. at the Saxon State Opera (university concerts), in important Dresden churches, as well as in the series "Das Lied in Dresden" and in close cooperation with the Dresden Chamber Choir, the lessons find their complement in artistic practice.
