The Dresden College of Music views itself as a place for the cultivation of the music culture in which art, science and instruction in theory and practice are interconnected. There is a lively exchange between tradition and renovation, continuity and experiment. Freedoms to experiment, new working methods and artistic research are components of everyday life at the College.
Ensembles
In addition to the teaching and seminar units, the training as orchestra musician or music teacher includes ensemble playing in the college symphony orchestra, in particular symphony concerts and opera productions, as well as working with renowned ensembles and conductors in chamber music.
Master Classes
The Dresden College of Music offers its students the opportunity to deepen their knowledge and skills in master classes in addition to their regular education. The Dresden Master Classes for Music are held every summer in addition to the master classes offered in the individual subjects during the semester. As an interdisciplinary educational project, the project unites professors from our conservatory, lecturers from Dresden's top orchestras and international guests who conduct master classes in a wide range of subjects for students and young musicians from all over the world.
