Application deadline for the academic year, the winter semester or the summer semester:

You will need to register as an applicant to your home institution. The International Office of your home institution will then review your application, nominate you and transfer your application to us. 

Your application needs to include a link to media files with your portfolio (recording of around 20 minutes; for composition candidates two or three scores). 

You will also need to upload the following documents: 

• CV
• Motivation letter
• Transcript of Records
• Letter of Recommendation
• portrait photo in JPEG or GIF format

All applications have to be submitted through EASY Mobility Online by the deadline 15 April or 15 November. We ask you start the application too close to the deadline: there are steps that you need to follow to be able to confirm the final submission. Follow the workflow step-by-step, and finally, confirm submission.

We will not accept any applications submitted after the deadline.

German B2 is recommended for courses in conducting, accompaniment, composition, music theory, teacher training, instrumental and vocal pedagogy, vocal.

For all other course, German B1 is recommended.

For students, who don’t have the recommended German language skills, English B2 is required.

We offer all exchange students the opportunity to take part in a German language course during the semester. The course takes place once a week during the lecture period.

The German language course is offered as part of the module "Language and Cultural Life in Germany". Students can earn 3 ECTS credit points per semester for this module. Credit points are awarded for participation in the German language course, attendance of at least 8 musical events and passing of an oral examination at the end of the German language course.

The dates of the German course will be communicated by the International Office before the start of your stay.

For accommodation in Dresden, you can apply for a place in a student hall of the Student Union Dresden.
