Piano

With its range of courses, the specialisation piano occupies an outstanding position at the Dresden College of Music. The professors and lecturers are experienced artists and educators with versatile international concert activities.

Training broadly diversified, practically oriented, individually

The focus of the study programme is the development of an artistic personality with all its creative potential, who confidently meets the requirements of the current music business. The basis for this is the comprehensive technical and musical training and promotion of creativity and independence.

Focus on interpretation

The main focus of the training is the examination of musical, technical, intellectual and historical-stylistic questions of interpretation.

Concert and stage practice

The classrooms, which are equipped with high-quality instruments, offer good study conditions. With the Concert Hall, the Small Hall and the numerous external venues, the college, as the largest regional concert organizer, offers its students enough podiums for concert and stage practice.

Additional offers

The course is rounded off by numerous additional courses: For some years now, the Anton Rubinstein Piano Competition has been held regularly in Dresden in cooperation with the college and its symphony orchestra.

Master classes of internationally renowned artists and professors are held regularly as supplementary teaching offers.

A summer academy offers interested young pianists the opportunity to prepare for their studies.
