Entrance Examination

Admission Requirement:
Bachelor of Music or Diploma

 

Language requirements:

For enrolment: Proof of German language skills according to level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

The following language certificates are accepted:

  • TestDaF
  • TELC
  • Goethe certificate
  • UNI Cert
  • ÖSD certificate

In addition, language certificates according to the European Framework of Reference are also accepted by language schools that have recognized quality management certificates.

Students at the HfM Dresden who have been admitted subject to proof of German language skills must submit a language certificate according to the criteria listed above at the end of the first semester in order to be able to continue their studies.

 

Entrance Examination:
Conducting the following pieces (20-30 min.):

  • Francis Poulenc “Timor et tremor” Quatre Motets Pour Un Temps De Penitence, N°1
  • R. Schumann „Im Walde“ (Weltliche Gesänge)
  • Dvorák „Stabat mater“ Satz I
  • Bach "Matthäus-Passion", Eingangschor
  • Puccini aus „La Bohéme“ 2. Akt Anfang bis incl. Kinderchor „Parpignol“

Accompaniment (15-20 min.):

  • Interpretation of one scene each from three operas / oratorios of different styles
  • Sight reading of different literature

The examination board makes a selection from the prepared program.

 

Entrance Examination

Admission Requirement:
Bachelor of Music or University Diploma

Additional requirement: Qualified job expirience of at least one year (with a copy of the work contract or proof of freelance artistic work). Practical work expirience may have been obtained during a former study course.

 

Language requirements:

For enrolment: language certificate at least level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)

  • Certificate of the Goethe-Institute B1 or
  • European Certificate B1 or
  • UniCert I or
  • a comparable language certificate
