A person who touches us becomes a part of us.
Who is this Don Giovanni—a man who habitually seduces, overpowers, and abandons women? He plunges their ordered worlds—and those of the people around them—into chaos; he has his servant Leporello catalog every female conquest; and he accepts the consequences of being hunted and pursued, living a life on the run. Who are these women who fall for him, succumb to him, and find themselves unable to escape his spell?
*Don Giovanni* unfolds in darkness. The characters encounter one another at night and in the twilight, hovering between waking and dreaming, consciousness and the subconscious. The labyrinth through which their flight and pursuit drive them leads them not to a physical location, but to their own innermost core.
The 2026 annual production by the Opera Class is a collaboration between the Opera Class and University Symphony Orchestra of the HfM Dresden, the HfBK Dresden, and the Staatsschauspiel Dresden.
