Preparatory Courses for the Entrance Exam Minor Subject: Music Theory and Aural Training
The Centre for Music Theory offers preparatory courses for the entrance examination in music theory/aural training (minor subject) at the HfMDD.
Target Audience
The courses are designed for all applicants from various disciplines. The weekly preparatory course and the crash course offer preparation for the written portion of the entrance examination for teacher training programs, as well as for the entrance examinations in music theory/aural skills as a minor subject in the artistic bachelor's degree programs.
Note: These courses are only partially suitable for preparing for entrance examinations in jazz/rock/pop, as these examinations have different requirements.
Choices
Regular Course
Sustainable and thorough (2 hours weekly)
The regular preparatory course in music theory/aural training will be offered online every Monday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. during the 2025/26 academic year. Active participation (with video and audio) is required.
The first session is on 29.09.2025. The course will continue every Monday during the semester until the entrance exam in 2026.

Crashcourse
Last-minute
The following dates are planned for the crash course:

- 11.04.26, 09:00 - 12:00 and 15:00 - 18:00
