Living & Accomodation in Dresden Student Metropolis Between Culture and Nature
Dresden is the heart of Saxony, and not just geographically! Nestled in the idyllic Elbe Valley, this student metropolis is one of the greenest major cities in Europe. This is thanks to the Dresden Elbe Valley, the Dresden Heath, and numerous gardens and parks. Three nature reserves lie within the city limits.
Meteorologists describe the city's climate as humid. They have measured an average annual temperature of 10.4 °C in the city center. This makes Dresden one of the warmest cities in Germany. Locals and newcomers alike appreciate this and love to celebrate summer outdoors – with urban beaches, open-air festivals, street parties, summer stages, and a legendary open-air cinema on the banks of the Elbe.

Stages, Theaters, Museums
Dresden is considered a center of art, creativity and culture:
In addition to the world-famous Semperoper with the Staatskapelle Dresden and the newly renovated Kulturpalast and its Dresden Philharmonic, the Staatsschauspiel Dresden and the associated Kleines Haus there are several other stages and venues. The Kraftwerk Mitte power plant, housing the Staatsoperette Dresden and the tjg. theater junge generation, is located directly near the university.
