Network for the Promotion of Young Musical Talent Expertise & Resources
The Network for the Promotion of Young Musical Talent in Saxony brings together all those involved in musical education. The focus is on networking, knowledge transfer, and the further development of the musical education landscape to ensure the sustainable and coordinated promotion of musical skills for all children and young people in Saxony.
Our Goal
With the idea of a network for promoting young musical talent, we advocate for the creation of structures that, based on broad musical education, enable long-term musical careers for children and young people. This doesn't primarily mean additional programs and projects, but rather the networking of existing structures so that every musical lesson—whether in daycare, elementary school, music school, choir, or early childhood music education—can be understood as part of a cohesive and long-term approach to musical education. This integration of content and structure among musical offerings aims to ensure that all young people can find their own musical path according to their interests and abilities.
In this way, the decentralized expertise and resources of individual institutions can also be utilized within a larger collaborative network, ultimately benefiting each network partner. Everyone working in the field of formal and extracurricular musical education who feels committed to our cause is invited to participate.

Since October 2017, the Dresden University of Music has hosted several themed events and panel discussions as part of its "Future Workshop on Promoting Young Musicians" series.
The first conference on promoting young musical talent in autumn 2017 was very well received. This was followed by the conference „Relative Solmisation in Schule – Musikschule – Hochschule“ and a panel discussion on "Models of Promoting Young Musical Talent," which focused primarily on music education at universities.
At the second conference on promoting young musical talent in spring 2018, the draft of the "Model Project for Promoting Young Musical Talent" was presented, and it has since been the subject of lively and constructive discussion. The third conference in January 2020 was dedicated to projects on movement-based singing and aural skills in primary schools.
Below you will find the documentation and minutes of these events, as well as information on professional development courses such as "Composing with and for Students" (2019).
