Course of Studies

Duration:

8 Semester

As a logical consequence of the physical peculiarity of brass instruments, trumpet lessons in jazz trumpet are given by two teachers on two levels:

With regard to musical phrasing and improvisation, the students are taught diversity and security in the most important styles of jazz. This lays the foundation for the creative development of an individual musical personality.

In terms of instrumental techniques, the problem areas of sound, endurance, scope and control are tackled at the physical-physiological root. In contrast to all other instrumentalists, brass players do not find a functional musical instrument consisting of a generator and resonator, instead they first have to work out the function of the vibration generator in their own bodies.
