Requirements for enrolment are the university entrance qualification and a comprehensive musical preparatory training or, alternatively, the evidence of exceptional musical talent.

The applicant has to demonstrate his/her aptitude for musical studies in an entrance examination, which consists of an examination in the major subject and if necessary examinations in Piano, Music Theory and aural training. The completion of the entrance examination is the prerequisite for all courses of study.

Applicants for Vocal Studies have to pass a further health aptitude test at the university.
